Last week I had the pleasure of meeting with Kathy and Alexi. Gone are the days of mashed veges dished out with an ice cream scoop - their meals are delicious! Did you know each Meals on Wheels is a separate entity, so meals can vary from one to another?
The St. Lucia team take great pride in planning, preparing and delivering fresh, wholesome and delicious home cooked meals to their clients - served hot and ready to eat. In addition to this they provide perhaps the most important ingredient - a friendly hello and check-in for the people they serve.
What an innovative and forward thinking organisation, who are changing the perception of what it means to have Meals on Wheels. With a strong focus on 'quality and consistency' they have a varied menu with something that will please everyone.
They invited me to stay for lunch and sample one of their meals - meatloaf and veges - and I was pleasantly surprised, it really was like a home cooked meal and very enjoyable.
